Some of my closest friends have high expectations because their experience is vast. They've witnessed the best of everything, and are no longer moved by much of it.

I was asked to conceive, produce, and host an epic 60th birthday — for a friend who is not easy to impress. The concept married his love of yachts with his love of Nashville dive bars — high meets low, underwater. I hired every musician, artist, performer, and chef, and built the whole world from scratch for 100 of his closest friends. I managed a $300,000 budget and we created an evening that felt like it could only have happened once.

Guests received a custom lookbook a month before the party — because even the best-dressed people appreciate a little inspiration, a bit of direction, and permission to get a little weird.
